DKB Inspection Services provides drone inspection services for our clients. The fastest and safest form of visual inspection for: Wind Turbines, Gas and Oil platforms, Power Lines, Communication masts and Buildings and Infrastructures, by utilising the most advanced industrial drones. We can access areas that are too difficult or dangerous for traditional rope access methods. From takeoff, we can be in position to inspect with the drone in minutes and capture high resolution stills and film for instant review.

Our pilots fly the most rugged drones available, the DJI Matrice 210 and Inspire series. The DJI Matrice 210 has a weather and water resistant body rated to IP43. As such it’s well equipped to handle work in almost any weather, which means less down time due to precipitation and strong winds. Abel to withstand wind speeds of 12 m/s (26mph) with incredible stability.
Designed for exceptional versatility, our Matrice 210’s can be fitted with dual gimbal that lets you choose from multiple payload configurations, including upward facing camera perfect for surveying hard to access underdecks and bridges.
Our UAV’s are fitted with dual battery power redundancy and self-heating batteries, dual IMU’s for more precision flying, obstacle sense and avoidance sensors and with an impressive flight time of 38 minutes and an operating temptation -20 to 45c. The units can be fitted with a number of cameras including the Zenmuse X4S, X5S, Z30 and Thermal XT/XT2.

Using drones to inspect wind turbines is a safer, faster and more cost effective solution compared to traditional rope access. We carry out onshore drone inspection and offshore drone inspection. Our goal is to reduce rope access technicians exposure to working at heights and provide them with more accurate data so maintenance schedules become more cost effective and efficient.
Having regular checks of your wind turbines throughout and beyond their warranty periods to track the progression of damage and development of damage, will prolong the operational lifespan.
Traditionally a wind turbine would be inspected by a 3 person rope access team with climbers descending each blade in turn in a very time consuming and costly manner. Our aim isn't to replace rope access teams but to assist them with safer, faster and more accurate data gathering for maintenance schedules.
Typically our team would inspect both suction and pressure sides as well as leading and trailing edges, the tower and the nacelle if required. Undertaking 4-6 inspections in one day depending on environmental conditions.

Traditional power line inspections are one of the most hazardous, costly and difficult forms of inspection to carry out. With demand for continuous power higher than ever, even the smallest outage can be incredibly costly to compensate.
A traditional power line inspection team would take half a day to inspect one pylon but with drone Power Line inspection we can inspect one pylon in around 30 minutes. We can also check for incursions on up to 1km of power lines from a single position in minutes.

Using drones to inspect flare tips for visual and thermal damage whilst they are still online and live can save millions of dollars per site. We can assess the flare tips from as far away as 50 meters using the DJI Zenmuse Z30 which gives us 30x optical zoom capabilities.
Once the data is gathered it will be assessed by an MICorr technician and a report will be compiled for maintenance schedules.
By utilising UAVs for aerial survey and inspection our clients can reduce cost, risk and environmental impact. UAVs have the benefit of being less intrusive than erecting scaffolding, using man handling equipment or rope access. Saving time and money, this quick, cost effective and safer inspection solution can be used for numerous applications.
As an example of the huge safety, time and cost savings, a traditional rope access team inspecting a wind turbine would require a 3 man team and take 3 days to inspect one turbine, using UAVs we can carry out a turbine inspection with 2 pilots in around 45 to 90 minutes depending on the number of findings and we never have to make contact with the structure or fly within 15-20 meters at any point.
